THE SOLIDARITY CAB

On behalf of myself and the City Council, I would like to thank you for your collaboration in dealing with this exceptional situation that we are experiencing as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Your gesture of solidarity, which adds to the many signs of support that the different municipal services have been receiving during these weeks, shows us the strength and social commitment of the entities, companies and associations of our city. It is a source of pride for me, as mayor and as a Barcelona resident, to see how this strength is particularly evident in these difficult times for everyone.

I am fully aware of the great concern and uncertainty that this crisis is generating. Therefore, I am convinced that we will only be able to get through this with the enormous collective effort that we are all making.

We will not tire of thanking you once again for demonstrating such professionalism and contribution to the care of our health professionals who have been the key piece in the stabilization of the pandemic.

We, the group of volunteers, are very pleased to have been able to collaborate and interact with the girls at the switchboard and with you, who have always shown us passion and exceptional vocation to fulfill the services requested. And the cab drivers, of course, who have always been attentive and willing to offer the best assistance in an altruistic way.

You have been taking care of our professionals since March 30th, that’s more than two months! THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU!

One of our main commitments is to ensure that our professionals can carry out their daily healthcare activity with the greatest comfort and safety, and thus guarantee the best care for the patients they care for and also guarantee their own well-being. Your collaboration together with the Pharmaceutical Bank, with whom you have provided us with food supplements for our professionals, helps us achieve this.

The sincere gratitude for the service that you have offered from taxi solidari 33 to all the professionals of our hospital, since the appearance of COVID-19 and with it the confinement, until this past Sunday, June 7th.

We have received a lot of positive feedback about the treatment received from the taxi drivers and the switchboard service. Thank you for all the support you have given to us and to all the hospitals in Barcelona.

Thanks to all of you who have made our work a little easier, congratulations to all the great team you have, Rosa Maria, Laia and the rest with whom we have had the pleasure of working are the ones I have been able to meet, but I’m sure there are many more, and above all to that bunch of cab drivers who are on the street and who have helped with their time to make getting to work and back home much easier.

I would like to share with you some poems that I have written during this unprecedented period, with the conviction that they reflect the feelings and unanimous gratitude of the entire population, sensitized by the unwavering struggle that HEALTH and other organizations are exercising during this critical situation that we are living. And how can we not thank the TAXI COMMITTEE for their example of solidarity with the health workers, by providing them with free travel in recognition of their invaluable work.
